Ursela Gena Miller

Ursela Gena Miller, 53, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. She loved cats, animals, art, live music and had a huge love of owning and raising horses with her father when she was a child, and most of all enjoyed spending time with her life partner. She attended Lenoir-Rhyne University, Appalachian State University and University of Louisville for art education. Gena was quirky with a unique personality, had quick wit, was creative and very intelligent with a huge heart and a kind soul and will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who knew her. She kept us laughing and always had a smile for us.

She was born on April 8, 1972 in Key West, Florida to Ursel “Gene” Miller and Kathleen (McHugh) Miller.

Gena is survived by her life partner and soulmate of 27 years, Andrew Cignoni, sister Belinda Vila, cousins Michele McHugh, Sheri McHugh-Evett, Amanda Worrall, aunt Claire Instasi, best friends since grade school Tasha Herrin and April Mills, as well as countless friends that will cherish her memory forever.
