Steven Calianno Obituary

Steven Frank Calianno, 54, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away suddenly in his home on 10/17/25. Born on June 12, 1971, in Tonawanda, New York, Steven will be remembered for his love and generosity, sharp sense of humor, incredible work ethic, and talent for working with his hands.

Steve graduated from Beaver Area High School and launched his long career as a mechanic at Bargain Breaks and Mufflers in Beaver
Falls while he earned his certification as an aircraft mechanic at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He cut his teeth in aviation working for a small airline in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he would also fall in love with the island and culture. Despite the language barrier, Steven communicated with ease and with just a few Spanish words would have people laughing and feeling cared for.  Steven worked for many airlines
over the years and made his way through the ranks ultimately settling at UPS in Louisville, where he was a valued and respected member of the Aircraft Technician team. Steven was also an artist and inventor, developing specialized aviation tools and making inspirational art pieces for his friends and family.

Steve was known to have a heart of gold and a sarcastic wit that will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

He is predeceased by his grandparents Frank and Francis Frankovich and Carol Berroth, as well as his father Leonard Berroth.

He is survived by his daughters Viviana Calianno and Amethyst Tagulao, his parents Charlotte Calianno and Nicholas Calianno, his brothers and their partners Leonard Calianno and Kimberly Payne Calianno, Ernesto Sanchez and Lindsay Parise, nieces and nephews Alana, Jaliya, Ernesto, and Luca, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and countless dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.

There will be celebrations of life in Louisville and Pittsburgh at a date yet to be determined. All who knew and loved him are welcome to gather in remembrance of his humor, talent, and generous heart.
