Ruby Mae Turner, 64, passed away on February 8, 2026. She was born on May 14, 1961, in Mayfield, Kentucky, to Ray and Brenda Keeling. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Anthony “Sam” Keeling and Richard Keeling.
Ruby is survived by her lifelong companion, Teri Waganer of Auburn, Illinois, along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.
“Her laugh” is the first thing mentioned by those who knew and loved Ruby. It was unforgettable — warm, full, and contagious. Just as memorable was her deep love for the special people in her life and for her beloved pets. Ruby had an unconditional love for all animals. She spent many hours riding horses and believed strongly in teaching others to treat them with compassion and respect. She always had a dog and a cat by her side — often several — and her home was never without the comfort of animals.
Ruby worked hard throughout her life running restaurants, with Pizza Hut being her number one place to be. Over the years, she made countless friendships while making pizzas and earned the respect of both her employees and patrons. She took pride in her work and in the people she worked alongside.
In her spare time, Ruby loved to fish and travel with family, always eager to try new adventures — even snowboarding. Country music, motorcycle rides, working out, sitting outside with a good book, and playing backgammon or cards were just a few of her favorite pastimes.
Ruby would give you the shirt off her back, even if she needed it more. Her genuine compassion and generosity will never be forgotten. Most every conversation began with a cheerful “Hey,” and ended with the very best hug.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal shelter of your choice.
“Life’s gonna fly and be gone too soon. And I’m gonna love you.”
Arrangements have been entrusted to B&G Mortuary Service. Please share a memory.
