Roy Donald Bailey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Donald Bailey, age 79 on January 5 2026. 

Roy grew up in Fairborn Ohio and served his country in the  U.S. Army in combat in the Vietnam war as a young man.

His family moved to Richmond Ky. and after coming home from the war he lived with them while attending Eastern Kentucky University.  That is where he met Vickie Johanboeke.  They married and had two children Brandi and Luke Bailey who survive him.  He is also survived by 3 siblings, Ronald Bailey (Cathy), Debra Abraham (Rod) , Barry Bailey and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Vertriece Bailey and one brother Darryl Bailey.

Roy enjoyed nature, fishing, birdwatching and loved spending time with his family and friends.  He had a great sense of humor and liked to make people laugh.  Roy made our world a happier place and he will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be Tuesday February 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Southeast Christian Church, Bullitt county campus, 220 Armstrong Lane, Mt. Washington Ky. 

A  Military Service will be held this spring where he will be interred at the Veterans Cemetery Central (KVCC) in Radcliff Kentucky.  A celebration of life will be held following the service at a location to be announced later.
