Ralph Beard

Ralph Edward Beard of Louisville, KY, passed away on March 5, 2025, at the age of 72 in Jeffersonville, IN. A beloved husband, son, brother, godfather, and uncle, Ralph leaves a legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity. 

Born in Owensboro, KY, Ralph graduated from Jeffersontown High School (Louisville) in 1972, received a BA from the University of Louisville in 1978, and studied at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a man of faith and was the pastor of Shrewsbury Baptist Church. He also worked at Our Lady of Peace and Norton Hospital. He enjoyed bow hunting, camping, deep sea fishing, and was an Eagle Scout in his youth. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Leslie Dame and father Gerald Edward Beard and survived by his mother Mary Catherine Robinson, stepmother Jeanne Beard, brothers Tony (Deena) and Eric Beard, sister Pamela (Jerry) Spencer, and stepbrother Mark Kirschner, as well as many nieces and nephews and two godchildren, Sydney Avery Clark and Sam Saraco. 

A memorial will be held at Fern Creek Baptist Church on March 22, with visitation at noon and the service will be at 1 p.m. 

He is greatly missed.
