In Loving Memory of Patricia Hardin
August 24, 1961 - May 8, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Hardin, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend. Patricia's journey began on August 24, 1961, in Bardstown, Kentucky, where she was welcomed into the world by her parents Margaret and Charles Hardin, who preceded her in death.
Patricia was a woman of remarkable intellect and unwavering determination. She completed a degree in Electronic Technology from the Tennessee Institute of Electronics in 1983, but her passion for learning and commitment to personal growth eventually led her back to academia, where she obtained a degree in Psychology from the University of Louisville, a testament to her enduring love for education and exploration.
Her professional journey was as diverse as her interests, culminating in her latest role as a Laboratory Scientist, where her love for science, math, and technology found perfect expression. Yet, Patricia's true joy and purpose in life were found in her role as a devoted mother to her daughter. Their bond was unbreakable, and her daughter remained the center of her world.
Patricia was a compassionate soul with a deep love for animals. Her dedication to her beloved cat colony and her involvement in Trap-Neuter-Return programs exemplified her generous spirit and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others, both human and animal alike.
Patricia's enthusiasm for life was evident in her myriad interests and passions. She found joy in the simple pleasures of the outdoors, swimming, exploring museums, immersing herself in literature and film, and savoring the magic of live music performances. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel far and wide, enriching her life with new experiences and cherished memories.
On May 8, 2024, Patricia passed away from a cardiovascular-related event. Her last act of love was to ensure she safely pulled off the expressway during a medical emergency, potentially saving many lives; a testament to her selflessness and concern for others.
In the hearts of those who knew her, Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and boundless curiosity. Though she may no longer walk amongst us, her spirit will continue to shine bright in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her during her remarkable journey through life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alley Cat Advocates or the Alzheimer's Association in her honor.
