Marti Lynn Lawson, age 55, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, in her hospice care unit in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by the love of her family.

Marti was a vibrant and artistic soul, known for her deep love of family, unwavering individuality, and creative spirit. She was a devoted partner, a nurturing mother, and a deeply cherished grandmother.

She is survived by her beloved spouse, Charles Payne; her children Caitlyn Lawson, Alexandra Fuller, and Jayden Payne; and her treasured grandchildren Grayson Fuller, Braelynn Fuller, Adalynn Fuller, Andrea Fuller, and Maddie Hickerson. Each of them brought a special light into her life, and she took great pride in being an accomplished and present grandmother—never missing a chance to create joyful moments with them.

Marti had a gift for cake decorating, a talent she pursued with both passion and precision. Her cakes weren’t just desserts—they were edible works of art, created with love and shared with joy. She also delighted in preparing home-cooked meals and desserts, always looking for new ways to bring her family together around the table.

A lover of music in all its forms, Marti lived life to her own rhythm—fearlessly and freely. She followed the beat of her own drum, embracing every genre and melody that spoke to her heart.

To honor Marti’s final wish, her ashes will be spread over the graves of her beloved brother, Mark Woods, and her mother, Lynda Poynter. This ceremony will take place at 2:00 PM on June 1, 2025, at Pleasureville Cemetery, 1548 Ditto Cemetery Rd, Pleasureville, KY 40057. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her life and legacy.

Marti will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but the love she gave and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
