Karen Lee Sloan

Karen Lee Sloan, 69, born November 21, 1955, passed away on June 23, 2025. 

She was a retired employee of Kentuckiana Eye Care and served there for 27 years. Karen was an avid cross stitcher, crafter and seamstress. She loved to cook and poured her love into every dish. Her home was always warm and inviting, she showed kindness to all and loved her family deeply. 

Karen is preceded in death by her mother, Carol Atkins (Mike); Father, Bill Hicks; husband, Mike Sloan; and partner, Trace Powell. 

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Michelle Cox (Jessie “Jay”); granddaughter, DeAmber Johnson; brothers, Norman Hicks (Jane), Brian Hicks (Barbara) and Evan Hicks (Kim). 

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 13, from 2-5 at Springhurst Community Association, 4200 Springhurst Blvd, Louisville Ky 40241
