James Thomas Meeks Obituary James T. Meeks passed away 5:30am on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Hillcrest Centre for Health and Rehabilitation Jeffersonville, IN. He was born on September 29, 1937 in Scottsville, Kentucky to Charles Meeks and the former Pauline Key who both preceded him in death. Jim served in United States Air Force for 20 years. His last assignment was for the Strategic Air Command at Offutt (Omaha,NE) Air Force Base where he was name Outstanding Non-Com officer of the year 1975. After retiring from the Air Force he served as Superintendent of Maintenance and Operations at Jefferson Community and Technical College for 24 years. After retiring from JCTC, and still wanting to be of service, Jim worked at Highlander Point Shopping Center for nearly 24 years only to retire this January 2025. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Susan, daughter Abby Cox (Jimmy Nissen), grandsons Keith Meeks (Anna), Eric Booher (Amy), great grandchildren Lance Booher, Emma Meeks, Andrew Meeks. Granddaughters, Holly Browning Schafer (Robert) and Savannah Santos (Tristan), great grandchildren Gage and Ella Browning; Samuel, Elijah, Arly and Nolan Santos; and various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, James Jeffery Meeks and daughter, Pamela M. Meeks, brother Russell Meeks and sister Betty Sue Sands. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Southern Care Hospice and Hillcrest Centre for Health and Rehabilitation for such loving care of the Meeks family. No service have been planned at this time.
