George Leonard Hinkel, son of the late Ferdinand and Dolores Jean Hinkel was born on November 23, 1956. George was a lifelong resident of Portland.

He was united in holy matrimony to, Charlotte Ann Hinkel. This union was blessed with two sons and one step-daughter.  George was a devoted husband and an avid woodworker. He quietly departed this life to join his childhood sweetheart on March 5, 2024.

He is survived by his Daughter Jessica Cohen (Jason), his two sons Bobby L Hinkel (Crystal), Brian A Hinkel (Ashley) his brothers Freddie L Hinkel (Bettye), Freddie James Hinkel (Peggy), Louie Hinkel (Lori), his sisters Susie Bohn (Claude), Joyce "Peaches" Sellers (Gary), Patty Willinger (Paul), and Sue Jean. Grandchildren, Blake, Max, Lucy, Bastien, Myles, Oliver, Elliott, and Violet.

A celebration of life will be held at Salvation Army, 306 N 28th St. Louisville, Ky 40212. A date and time will be announced at a later date.
