Donald Charles Kreutner

Donald Charles Kreutner, 79, entered into the presence of Christ on February 12, 2025, at the VA hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Kreutner; sons Derek and Jay Kreutner; Jay’s wife, Stephanie; granddaughter Grace Kreutner; Tricia Stiller, the mother of his granddaughters Abigail and Avrianna Kreutner; and his sister Susie Mullenger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Albert Kreutner, as well as his sister Carol Mason.  

Born on June 25, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Don pursued higher education and began his career as a teacher in Northern Indiana before transitioning into computer programming, where he worked for many years.  

A proud Navy veteran, Don served his country from 1968 to 1972 as a translator. In early 2016, he came to saving faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ, receiving the complete forgiveness of sins before the Triune God.  

Don had a deep love for University of Louisville basketball and enjoyed spending time on the golf course. He also cherished the companionship of his beloved dog, Hunter. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who valued time with his family.  

The memorial service will be a private event held at Don's local church and the burial will be a private event at New Albany National cemetary. The family would like to give their appreciation for the wonderful care he received from the staff at the VA hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully received to help cover family expenses. 

Don’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
