Clara Lucille Lohden

Our mother, Lucy Lohden, 89, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, August 31, 2024, at home in Louisville, KY, surrounded by her family. She always said all of the women in her family died when they were 89 so she was prepared to go be with the Lord. She was born on January 19, 1935, in Crawford County, IN, and was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Edith Stephenson, a sister Mildred Spalding and husband, Ivan Lohden. She was always so proud that both of her girls graduated from college and had successful careers and marriages, leaving behind her son-in-laws Mike Dillard (Carol Dillard) and William L. Crouch (Iva Gail Lohden). She was a proud mammaw to Jeremy Alan and Kelly Ann Rittenhouse. She spent 17 happy years with her doting partner, Chuck Davis, in Ft Myers and Daytona FL, her favorite place to be.

She was most concerned about how Bella, her beloved lap dog, would get along without her. We'll be nearby for Bella, but I know that Mom's friends at the Yorktown Senior House will give her lots of love pats. We wish to extend special thanks to Mom's dear friend Debbie Flores, who looked in on her and cooked her favorite foods, and Connie Banks, her loving caregiver who made the last year of her life comfortable and interesting. We are so blessed to have had a hard-working, loving mother who made it possible for us to have a good life!  We will miss her dearly!  Her daughters, Iva Gail Lohden & Carol Ann Dillard.

Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
