IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Chad Patrick
King
July 13, 1981 – February 15, 2025
Chad Patrick King, treasured husband, son, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2025, at the age of 43. Left to cherish him are his wife, Sarah King, his dogs, Maxwell, Hazel, and Benjamin, his parents, Pamela and Michael King, brother, Chris King, nieces, Cadence, Emma, and Avery King, Paige Robertson, Emory, Harper, and Campbell Phillips, Hadley Whyte, and Amelia Penny, nephews, Riley and Logan Robertson, Beckett Phillips, and Bryson Whyte, along with several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends. Chad was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. As a child, Chad spent his days playing with his brother, cousins, and friends, exploring the neighborhood, playing soccer, reading, and playing video games. Throughout his life, Chad developed a love for music, always knowing what song to play for the moment. During puzzle or Lego time on the weekend, he called himself DJ Puzzle; he was even in a band for a while in his younger years. He also loved movies from scary thrillers, supernatural stories, to superheroes and comedies. After graduating from Male High School, Chad worked as a mental health worker at Our Lady of Peace and as an LPN at Hazelwood in Louisville for several years. Chad loved his patients and what he did dearly. After leaving that career, Chad worked at FedEx Freight as a dock worker, where he enjoyed many different positions throughout his years there. Chad was a fun, generous, comedic, and loving man. He also loved his dogs. His bond with Clyde, his first dog with his wife, Sarah, was truly that of a man's best friend. If logic had nothing to do with it, he would have adopted every dog that needed a home. He was always trying to find any little way to give something to anyone that he could. He would do something as small as making sure that the new guy at work got his free work shirt so they felt more like part of the team, to helping people with holiday funds, giving away food, sharing all he had with those he loved. Chad wore the title of husband as a badge of honor. He loved Sarah with all of his heart. Anyone could see and feel how intensely his love was in the way he looked at her; the way his eyes lit up when he talked about her. Chad's all-time favorite role in his life was Uncle. He loved the days filled with Uncle Chad and Aunt Sarah sleepovers, special days, dance parties, board games, video games, pumpkin painting, and any other time he could snag the title of Uncle Chad. His enchanting smile, contagious laughter, goofy demeanor, and loving warmth will be missed terribly every day but will live on vividly in our memories. A celebration of life will be held for Chad at George Rodgers Clark Park Lodge on April 19th, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the donations may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society or the Shamrock Foundation.
