William Edward
Antras
Apr 22, 1954 — Oct 2, 2026
Madison
William Edward “Bill” Antras, age 72, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on October 2, 2026, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Bill was born on April 22, 1954. Although he most recently called Madison, Indiana, home, he spent the majority of his life in Florida.
Bill had a larger-than-life personality and truly never met a stranger. He had a gift for striking up conversations wherever he went and making friends along the way. Those who knew him knew he was always ready for a good fishing trip or a game of cards. Some of his happiest moments were spent with a fishing pole in hand, playing cards, and enjoying the company of family and friends.
Bill spent many years as a truck driver, logging more than 100,000 miles each year on the road. His dedication and hard work earned him the honor of being named Driver of the Year several times throughout his career. With his outgoing personality and love of meeting people, life on the road gave Bill many opportunities to make friends wherever his travels took him.
Bill is survived by his special friend, Teresa Craig; his two daughters, Nicole Antras of Old Town, Florida, and Lori Jo Antras of Dillsboro, Indiana; four grandchildren, Brandon (Maria), Christian, Jacob (Teagan), and Skye; and four great-grandchildren, Lovell, Tyler, Jasper, and Lily.
He is also survived by his mother, Vickie Antras of Versailles, Indiana; and his four siblings, Steve Antras, Leanna Phillippe, Mike Antras, and Tom Antras. He leaves behind extended family and many friends whose lives were touched by his unforgettable personality.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Ginnie" Antras, and his father, Frank Antras.
Bill lived life with a personality that was impossible to overlook and a friendliness that made strangers feel like old friends. His stories, his love of fishing and card games, and the larger-than-life presence that made him who he was will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
At the request of Bill and his family, services will be private.
Bill’s larger-than-life personality will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
