Ursela Gena Miller, 53, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Gena was a deeply loving, creative, and unforgettable soul. She had a lifelong love of animals—especially cats—as well as art, painting, music, playing drums and attending concerts. Some of her fondest memories were made during her childhood, when she loved owning, riding and raising horses with her father.

Gena pursued her passion for art education at Lenoir-Rhyne University, Appalachian State University, the University of Louisville, and Wilkes Community College. Her creativity and intelligence were reflected in all she did, but it was her quirky, whimsical personality and quick wit that made her truly one of a kind.

Above all, Gena treasured the time she spent with her life partner. She had a huge heart and a kind soul, and she brought laughter, warmth, and a smile to everyone around her. Gena will be profoundly missed by her loved ones, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Gena was born on April 8, 1972 in Key West, Florida to Ursel Grant "Gene" Miller and Kathleen “Kathy” (McHugh) Miller.

Gena will be forever cherished and deeply missed by her beloved life partner and soulmate of 27 years, Andrew Cignoni. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with profound love for each other and treasured memories that he will carry in his heart forever.

She is also forever cherished and deeply missed by her sister, Belinda Vila; cousins Michele McHugh, Sheri McHugh-Evett, and Amanda Worrall; her aunt, Claire Instasi; her best friends since grade school, Tasha Herrin and April Mills; and countless friends whose lives she touched.
