Sara Lynn Sykes
September 21, 1992 – May 27, 2026
Sara Lynn Sykes, 33, passed away on May 27, 2026, after suffering a catastrophic stroke.
Sara lived loudly, fiercely, and unapologetically as herself. She was the kind of person you never forgot — stubborn in the most Sara way, fiercely independent, and able to leave behind a story wherever she went. If you knew Sara, you knew she was a little rebellious, a little chaotic, incredibly strong-willed, and deeply loved by the people lucky enough to know her.
More than anything in this world, Sara loved her daughter, Emma. Emma was her pride, her heart, and the center of her world. No matter what life threw at her, Sara’s love for Emma never wavered.
In one final act of generosity, Sara chose to be an organ donor, giving others the gift of life and hope even in her passing. It was a deeply meaningful reflection of who she was beneath the tough exterior — someone whose story and spirit will continue through others.
Sara was preceded in death by her mother, Nadine Macauley-Hughes; her father, Andrew Sykes; and her brother, Steven Macauley.
Sara is survived by her daughter, Emma; her sister, Lisa Seanor (Cody); her brothers, Jake Sykes (Brittany) and Matthew Macauley; her beloved nephews, Nash and CJ; her boyfriend, John Berding; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her humor, fire, and unforgettable presence.
A celebration of Sara’s life will be held at Riverview Park (Greenwood Rd) on June 2, 2026 from 6-8pm. In honor of Sara, family and friends are encouraged to come together to share stories, laughter, memories, and all the moments that made Sara exactly who she was.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to help support Emma’s immediate and future needs through https://gofund.me/5c4535ac5
Sara did things her own way until the very end — and she will be missed more than words can say.
Arrangements have been entrusted to B&G Mortuary Service. Please share a memory.
