August 27, 1949 - July 2, 2026
Peter N. Scaparo Jr., born in llion, New York, passed away peacefully at his home on July 2, 2026, at the age of 76. A son of the late Peter Scaparo Sr. and Catherine (Binney) Scaparo.
Peter worked at International Harvester and Shepherdsville Square Shopping Center. He was a faithful member of Shepherdsville Gospel Chapel.
His hobbies and passions were working on pictures for friends and family, his faithfulness to God and to his family. He loved to talk about working in his dad's restaurant when he was growing up.
Peter was a kind and compassionate man loving father and husband who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be remembered for his generous heart, quiet strength, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Peter was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet (Brooks) Scaparo; his sister, Mary (Scaparo) Hubbell, his brother, Carl Scaparo and nephew Steven Scaparo.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Laura (Darvis) Scaparo-Richardson, son, Christopher Scaparo, one grandson, Matthew Richardson. His sisters, Josephine (Charles Sr.) Fresco and Katherine Fresco; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will dearly miss him.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice for the compassionate care, comfort, and unwavering support they provided to Peter and his loved ones during this difficult time.
As per his wishes, he is being cremated, and there will not be a viewing or service.
A Celebration of Life service to celebrate Peter's life will be announced and held at a later date.
B&G Mortuary Service of Southern Indiana will be serving the family.
Peter's kindness, generosity, and love for his family will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
