Michael Paul Cecil, 62, was born on September 22, 1963, in Bardstown, Kentucky, to the late Mary "Eleanora" Hibbs Cecil and Joseph Kenneth Cecil Sr.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his beloved mother, Mary "Eleanora" Cecil; and his brother, Joseph Kenneth Cecil Jr.

He is survived by his wife Tina of more than 37 years; his sons, Tyler Lincoln (Brook) and Cory Michael (Lexie); his daughter, Laramie Rose; his cherished grandsons, Jireh Lincoln and Callum McCoy and his brother William ‘Tom’ (Karen) Cecil.

Michael also leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, "outlaws," and countless friends. His love for his family and friends reached far beyond what words can adequately express.

A graduate of the University of Louisville's engineering program, Michael was a proud Cardinal fan whose passion for University of Louisville athletics remained strong throughout his life. He was also an avid horse racing enthusiast and enjoyed participating as a small ownership partner in several racehorses over the years.

Known for his warm smile, kind heart, and positive spirit, Michael had a remarkable ability to brighten every room he entered. He was deeply appreciated by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Michael's outlook on life was simple and inspiring. In his own words, he was always "living the dream."

His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 30 with more details to follow.
