Mary Ann Thompson, a cherished resident of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the age of 69. Born in Danville, Kentucky, on February 28, 1957, Mary Ann was known for her warm heart, dedication to family, and her remarkable skills as a homemaker.
Mary Ann touched the lives of many with her passion for gardening, cooking, and crocheting. Her love for flowers was evident in the beautiful gardens she tended, which brought joy and color to her home and community. Her culinary skills were legendary among family and friends, and she was always eager to share her delicious recipes with others.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Kevin Thompson, and their two sons, Kevin Thompson Jr. and Eric Edward Thompson. Mary Ann was also a proud grandmother to Toby Thompson, Triston Thompson, Kala Thompson, and Alice May Thompson, and she cherished her role as a great-grandmother to several great-grandkids. Her loving spirit will also be remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Harriet Keeling, Richard Wright, and Marcella Wright. Though they are no longer with us, their memories and shared experiences are treasures that will endure in the hearts of those who knew them.
A visitation will be held at Fair Haven Baptist Church on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Mary Ann will be laid to rest at Charlestown Cemetery, where her spirit will join the serene beauty of the flowers she so loved.
