In Loving Memory

Jody Ray Norton

April 24, 1981 – September 10, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jody Ray Norton, who passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, at the age of 45 at Norton Pavilion Hosparus Center.

He was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved nothing more than spending time listening to music. Though Garth Brooks was his favorite, he had a passion for all country and rock music. In his young adult years he spent a lot of time fishing, enjoying the quiet moments and the anticipation of what might be waiting at the end of the line. When he could no longer go fishing, you could often find him settled in his recliner watching one of his favorite crime shows—Law & Order, NCIS, or CSI. And if there was one thing he loved almost as much as fishing and his favorite television shows, it was his love of animals. Animals were more important than people most days to him. He had a love for all his fur grandbabies too. He enjoyed snuggling them and spoiling them with surprises. We also can’t forget he had a love for sweets and coffee like no other and could rarely turn down a good treat. His favorite sweet treat was always a cheese danish with a cup of joe to get his day started.

Above all else, he was a father. His three daughters were an important part of his life, and his memory will live on through them and the love they shared.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack H. Norton, his sister, Wendy Klingsmith, and his loyal four legged daughter Trinity.

He leaves behind his mother, Rhonda Norton, his brother Michael Reed; his three beautiful daughters, Raven Cheyenne (Eli) Williams, Chloe Lynn (Ethan Moody) Norton, and Josephine Ray Norton, and several nieces and nephews.

Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His love of music, going fishing, his favorite shows, his sweet tooth, and most importantly, his role as a father will forever be a part of his story.

The family has decided to entrust his body to B&G Mortuary for cremation and they will hold a private family service at a later date.
