It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Helen Jean Bannister on August 13, 2026 at Hampton Oaks facility in Scottsburg, Indiana at age 92. She was born in Lafolllette, Tennessee on September 12, 1933 to McKinley and Parlie Robbins. Both have preceded her in death along with her four brothers and two sisters.She was married to the love of her life, Johnnie Bannister for almost sixty years who also preceded her in death in 2012.

Surviving members include twin daughters, Janet (Charlie) Tobey and Jackie (Larry) Tash. She is also survived by a granddaughter Jacque(Joey) Garza and one great grandchild, Jakai Adler Garza. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

She loved her family and cherished each minute she could spend with them.She loved to cook and prepare meals for family and friends.She also loved teaching people about the Bible. She was baptized as one of Jehovah,s Witness in 1955. She loved sharing her positive hope for the future including the resurrection hope when she will be reunited with Dad and many other friends and family she lost to live here on the earth again under paradise conditions like God intended in the beginning.Mom will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering integrity and love for family.
