Harold Arthur Hilts, departed this world on February 2, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on March 14, 1960, in Norwich, NY, Harold was the youngest of four. His final moments were spent in Louisville, KY, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family.

Harold moved to Ocala, Florida in 1973, a place he would call home for the majority of his life. Harold eventually relocated to Scottsburg, Indiana, drawing closer to the family that meant everything to him.

Harold married Brenda Miller on November 1, 1981. From this blessed union came two daughters, Crystal Hilts and Samantha Drown (Hilts). He was a doting grandfather to Savannah Hilts, Michelle Kessinger, Kiara Drown, Dustin "Noah" Drown, Hayleigh Drown, Tristen Drown, and Alexander Drown, and he cherished every moment spent with his great-granddaughter, Renesmee Whipkey.  Survivors also include his sister, Patricia "Pat" Sears (Hilts).

Harold was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Stuart Hilts and Shirley Hilts (Eastman), as well as his sister Shirleen "Sue" Wilson (Hilts), brother Darryl Hilts, and niece Sonya Wilson.

Possessing a passion for the nostalgia and beauty of old cars and motorcycles, Harold loved working on cars, a pastime he shared with his father and later with his son-in-law, Dustin Drown. Harold's laughter was contagious, and his penchant for "dad jokes" was legendary among his loved ones.

While his physical presence will be missed, Harold's spirit will continue to live on through the countless stories, shared experiences, and the unbreakable bonds he fostered with those he loved.  A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday June 2, 2024, 2:00 PM at Clifty Falls State Park in Madison, Indiana.
