Carol Anne "Anne" Schad passed away on May 15, 2026, at the age of 65 due to pancreatic cancer. She was at home surrounded by her loving family—her husband Bud, her daughter Katy, and her sister Ellen. Born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 22, 1961, Anne lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a genuine love for others. To know Anne was to know someone who would always offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a quiet act of compassion without ever expecting anything in return.

Anne carried with her the values of compassion, loyalty, and hard work throughout her entire life. She began her career as a dental assistant at the University of Louisville Dental School before later dedicating 25 years at the Kentucky Ford Truck Plant, where she earned the respect of those around her through her determination and unwavering work ethic. While she worked hard throughout her life, the people and animals she loved were always at the center of her world. Anne adored animals, especially her beloved dogs, Shelby and Ellie, who brought her endless companionship and joy. Some of Anne's happiest moments were spent walking the beaches of Sanibel Island, searching for seashells along the shore. She found peace in those quiet walks, cherishing the beauty of the ocean and the simple wonders of nature.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Robert "Bob" and Mary Woodruff and by her birth mother, Kathy Reynolds. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Bud Schad; her daughter, Mary Kaitlin "Katy" Schad (Zeth Rogers); her sister, Ellen Woodruff; her sister-in-law, Kathy Murphy (Todd); her nephews, Hayden Murphy (Hillary Slater) and Jarren Murphy (Emily); her half-sister, Peggy Bush (Jim); and her half-brother, David Evens.

Anne leaves behind a legacy of compassion, loyalty, and quiet strength. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her spirit, and the way she made everyone around her feel cared for and valued. Though her absence will be deeply felt, the love she shared and the memories she created with those she held dear will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew her.

A private family celebration of life will be held in her honor.
